Dear Friend of the Fair:
The 2019 Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fairs will soon be here. This will be the 161th Gouverneur Fair and the 168th St. Lawrence County Fair. This year’s event runs from July 30th through August
4th.
Coleman Brothers will once again provide our carnival and a new spectacular ride is scheduled for this year. They provide a clean and friendly business and the carnival runs each day and evening providing rides for young and old
alike. Advanced discounted ticket sales will be available from Coleman’s at their website: www.colemanshows.com.
The fair kicks off on Tuesday the 30th, at 4:00 p.m. Performing on stage opening night at 8:00 is Country Music
Star John Michael Montgomery! Wednesday is the Fireman’s Parade and high school band competitions at 7:00 p.m.. Harness Racing on Thursday afternoon. Get out your dancing shoes! Back by popular demand are The Amish Outlaws, who will perform
Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. The Annual Talent Show is Friday evening. Saturday afternoon brings a little something different to the grandstand area. We have a Family Fun Day planned with various events. Watch for further information
on this. Saturday’s evening’s Grandstand event at 7:30:00 p.m features Fully Completely Hip, a Tragically Hip tribute band. We finish on Sunday with the Demolition Derby at 1:00 p.m.
Our daily Grounds Acts are free entertainment
for the entire family. Returning Rosaire’s Royal Racers! Come watch the speedy swine fly around the track. Also, back this year is Eudora Farm’s, with some of the world’s most fascinating & exciting animals.
We continue
to make improvements to the grounds and programming with sponsorship funds. Last year’s projects included bathroom renovations and lighting. A new dairy barn was built with NYS Grant and local fair funds.
We are proud of our
agricultural community and the cattle, sheep, poultry and horses exhibitors bring to the fair for competition. The Youth Building, FFA Barn and show ring will be in full swing with many 4-H and FFA members. Many exhibitors go on to state
and national competitions.
Admission to the fairgrounds is free. We ask guests for a $5 parking fee. Like most rural fairs we struggle to make enough in one week to pay for a year’s worth of expenses. We receive a percentage
of the carnival ride income and we collect fees for vendorspace. With little hired labor, many of our Directors volunteer countless hoursto maintain the buildings and grounds. We’re always looking for volunteers and encourage you to contact
us if interested.
Sponsorship is an excellent opportunity to market your business and gain the benefits from extra exposure at the Fair. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond levels are available; receiving added advertising exposure
for each increased level of sponsorship.
Please know we greatly appreciate your financial support in helping us put on this event for our community and surrounding area. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you! All of the
Directors thank you very much for your consideration and please do come see us at the fair. We will be looking for you!!
